CONGRATULATIONS!! Continued.... Page Four! . |
Fina Vista Farm would like to thank their customers and wish them many happy trails
with their Paso Finos! We will always welcome your feedback, recent pictures
and updates on shared adventures. Pictured below are some pasos from our
farm with their new families. |

One of the hardest horses to see leave the farm was a homebred beautiful chestnut
gelding named El Mango de FinaVista. It was hard because of several reasons... he was so friendly and loveable,
he was gorgeous and we all wanted to see him mature, but especially because he
was my young son, Nate's favourite horse on the farm. From the time he
was two years old, Nate wanted to ride "his horse, Mango". Nevertheless, we can't keep them all and we were very happy to see him go
to his new home with Ovidio H. of Toronto in 2008, and into the capable training
hands of Luis Carbajal. We do all still miss Mango and look forward to seeing him at the shows and events this summer! |
"Paolo" is a stunning bay gelding son of top-ten-sire, Prometido de Selecta. Gorgeous
action and undeniable presence made this a horse that could not be missed in
a crowd. One year, while showing at Erin Fair, I was stopped after a class
on the fairgrounds by a couple who had seen him from across the park and just
had to come over and learn more about this horse. All of that presence and brio
and energy made Paolo a challenging horse to match to a new owner. It needed to be a person blessed
with calm emanating energy, a good seat and infinite patience and love for
this ball of energy. Lucky for Paolo, that person came along right on cue
and fell head over heels for this special boy. Congratulations Tara J.,
of Simcoe Ontario on your new equine partner! Here's what Tara wrote to me
recently: "I'd like to thank you with all my heart Camilla. You have personally made
quite a difference in our lives and we will be ever grateful. Here's to
another wonderful day with our Pasos." |
Eclipse is a well-gaited bay gelding son of the infamous Terremoto de Manizales. He was part of a package purchase from the Flying M Ranch in Montana. After
seeing the Paso Finos demonstrated at the Royal Winter Fair in 2008, Enrique M.
of Toronto just had to have one!! Eclipse's new owner, Enrique, had ridden in the past, but not for many years, due to an old injury and new serious health challenges. Something about the Paso Fino brought out a new zest for life that has him feeling healthy and alive again. So much so that his partner had to go and buy one as well! Congratulations to Enrique and Barry for your beautiful new Pasos and all the new adventures ahead. |
Speaking of people who catch the enthusiasm for the Paso Fino from their partners....
less than a year after Tara bought the beautiful Paolo (see above) she
and her partner, Marty S., were back to the farm looking for a mount for Marty.
I did not have anything totally trained at the time, howwever, I did
have a green-broke sweetheart of a mare who just needed more miles. I knew
Marty was up to it and he and Marquesa hit it off right away. The extra bonus is that Paolo and Marquesa are now as inseparable a duo as Tara and Marty. :) |
Zarzuela Fina Vista is a beautiful 2007 dark bay filly who got new co-owners, Janet and her niece, Casey,
in March, 2009. Zarzuela is a truly lovely young horse that is still
residing, for now, at Fina Vista Farm. For more pictures and her special
Horse of the Week profile... go to the MyHorse.ca site of Janet's sister, Leslie Town, photographer
extraordinaire. Congratulations Janet, Casey and the lovely Zarzuela. |
Flying M Fiera was another mare that came to the farm in a package from Montana. There were
6 horses in all and three came to Fina Vista and the other three went to Forest
Gait Farm, my partner in this particular horse project. Fiera is a top
quality show mare with lots of brio and a record of producing superior foals.
Professionally trained and shown by Alberto Sierra. Fiera is a regional
performance champion mare by a multi-world Fino Champion, Petrolero del Juncal, out of a direct daughter of the legendary Plebeyo. Fiera makes her new home at the farm of Cindi C., near Orangeville, Ontario, where she
will no doubt continue making lovely paso babies. |
In Spring, 2009, I had so many people contacting FinaVista for totally trained and
family-friendly paso horses that were ready to hit the trails immediately,
that I got in touch with Southern contacts and arranged to import a couple
from Florida. Nieta was one of these horses and came to the farm as everything they promised and more.
Safe, sane, friendly, sweet, well-trained and ready-to-ride. The
kind of horse I would happily have on the farm forever. Needless to say,
it did not take long for someone to scoop her up. Congratulations to Michele
S., of Ontario, on your lovely new mare. Now with 2 pasos in the family
there is twice the fun!! |

Mermalada is a beautiful chestnut mare with 4 white socks and a extended heart-shaped star
that suits her loving personality. She came up with her mare-friend, Nieta (see above), and impressed us all with her sweetness. It did not take long
for someone to scoop up this big, smooth, trail-savvy lady. Her new owner
has been riding all her life and still has a couple retired horses on her farm,
but was now looking for a smooth and sensible riding partner to treat herself
to, and a Paso Fino seemed to fit the bill perfectly. Congratulations to
Pauline A., of Kingston, Ontario. Happy trails ladies! |
