ROAD TRIP TO THE EQUINE AFFAIRE, OHIO CCPFHA is offering an organized trip to 'Equine Affaire' in Columbus, Ohio in April 2009. Equine Affaire is one of the USA Premiere Equine Exposition and Equestrian Gatherings. Four days of clinics, seminars, and demonstrations from an exceptional lineup of horse-industry professionals along with world class shopping, representatives from many different breeds, and youth-oriented activities. There is an educational program with more than 230 non-repeating clinics, demonstrations and seminars. Hundreds of vendors in the largest equine trade show in the Midwest. WORKING EQUITATION CLINIC WITH KIMBERLY GARVIS Organized by: Winnie Stott, Winsong Farm Dates: May 23rd or 24th, 2009 (sign up for the Saturday OR the Sunday) Location: Winsong Farm, Palgrave, Ontario Clinician: Kimberly Garvis has spent many years in Brazil training and competing in the super exciting sport of Working Equitation. This is a timed event involving individual horses navigating a course of obstacles on one day and basic dressage on another day. Camilla, Margaret and Victoria attended the clinic as spectators in November and plan to take horses to this next clinic in May. It looks like a super fun activity for horse and rider. PASO FINO AND PERUVIAN PASO SHOW Hosted by: CCPFHA and OPHA Date: Saturday, July 4th, 2009, 9am start Judge: Karen Cabic Location: Black's Equine Centre, Hamilton This is our training event for the 2010 Pointed Show. We will have a certified Paso Fino and/or Peruvian Paso judge. There will be a short clinic/seminar, followed by some Paso Fino classes and some Peruvian Paso classes and some combined classes. CCPFHA OPEN HOUSE AND FIESTA Hosted by: CCPFHA Date: 10 - 4pm, Saturday June 20th, 2009 Location: Forest Gait Farm, 8122 Eramosa/Garafraxa Townline, Fergus, Ontario This inaugural event is sure to be the highlight of the year! Forest Gait Farm Paso Finos is opening up their farm for a fun-filled day of latin music and food, demonstrations of the Paso Fino, test rides for the public, games and general festiveness. ERIN FALL FAIR HORSE SHOW - GAITED CLASSES! Date: October 10th, 2008. Location: Erin Fairgrounds, Erin, Ont. This is a great Fall Fair for horse-lovers with many participants on all kinds of horses. For the past few years they have offered gaited horse classes, with open gaited classes and breed-specific gaited classes. Turnout is always the best of the fall fairs with regards to gaited horses. With no entry fees and cash prizes - this is guaranteed good times, people! It is usually held on Thanksgiving weekend. Details to follow. |

COBDEN FALL FAIR - PARADE, DEMOS, TRAIL RIDE, ETC Dates: August 27-30, 2009 Location: Cobden, ON (one hour west of Ottawa) Cobden is celebrating its 150th Fair and we are doing lots of horsey events. There is a parade thursday night the 27th at 6 pm, Paso Fino demonstrations over the weekend in the arena and a trail ride on sunday the 30th. Artworks Paso Finos invites folks to bring their gaited horses and join us in the celebrations. There is the use of a paddock for your horse and a rustic log cabin for you if you are able to come. THE ROYAL AGRICULTURAL WINTER FAIR Date: November 6th to 15th, 2009 Location: Canadian National Exhibition, Toronto, ON CCPFHA plans to participate for the 7th year in the Spirit of the Horse, organized by the Ontario Equestrian Federation at The Royal, with an information booth, a stall with a Paso Fino and daily demonstrations. SUNRISE HOOFBEAT CHALLENGE Date: 10am to 1pm, September 26th, 2009 Location: Sunrise Therapeutic Riding and Learning Centre, Puslinch, ON IThis pledge/sponsor event is an important fundraiser for a very worthy cause. Sunrise is hoping that you can participate by riding your horse, walking your dog, walking yourself or donating prizes,etc. Maybe you can gather up a group and come together.
